2025-04-15Josh was exactly what I had hoped for when I contacted him. I gave him very short notice (morning of) when I could not make it. He got there, got the date pushed back and gave time to put all my info together. When DMV wouldn’t respond he had reached out to his contact and got me immediate answers. In the end he got 2 tickets fully dismissed. He made this process as easy as it could possibly be. Thank you josh!

2024-12-28Ive never hired or worked with a lawyer before. I think we can all agree it can be a little intimidating. Josh was the first and only lawyer I reached out to late Sunday night after reading 5 star review after 5 star review. He immediately called me first thing the next morning and answered all my questions right away. He was extremely attentive, understanding, knowledgable, and kept my parents and I in the loop every step of the way. He put our minds at ease and set out to do exactly as he said. 2024-12-27I recently had a driving incident that required me to seek an attorney. It was my fault, but it was being blown out of proportion, and I needed help. I told Josh my side of the story, that there were circumstances that made it difficult to discern. It wasn't a cut and dry case. Josh took the time to look into it himself. He saw for himself what i was saying that no one believed. He then got the prosecutor to review the evidence that they weren't presented with, and as a result, the penalties were reduced to a level that was more suited to the offense. I can not thank him enough for all his time and effort. I would suggest him in any criminal case.

2024-11-25Where do I start? Most likely, you’re in need of a lawyer and reading reviews to find someone who can help. Well, look no further because….Mistakes happen to good people! I was in need of legal advice and a few friends said, “CALL MACKTAZ!” Fortunately I never needed to seek legal advice until a recent arrest. I explained my situation to Joshua Macktaz via email and within 24hours i receive a call from him. NOT a paralegal or an associate. It was him! All I can say is thank you Josh!! I had never been arrested before and did not know what to expect, especially during Covid. A friend recommended me to Josh and I could not be happier with the result. My case was dismissed and expunged just like Josh told me it would be at our first meeting (which was on a Sunday!). He answered all my calls and emails promptly and always kept me up to date on my case. Everyone knows him in the court and goes out of their way to say hello to him, including the judge! I cannot thank Josh enough for his unbelievable work on my case. I had never been in trouble before and did not know where to turn. There are so many lawyers on Google and none of them explained my case better than Josh. He called me on a Sunday (much to my surprise) and always replied to my calls and emails. DWI Dismissed and Expunged
I am so happy that I chose Josh to represent me in my DWI case. From the very first phone call (on a Sunday morning no less) he made me feel extremely comfortable and answered every single question I had. He was then able to get my criminal charge dismissed and expunged within 2 weeks of the first call. Still not even sure how he did it with Covid and courts being closed down. I only had to go to court once, and then it was dismissed and my record is clear. He answered every phone call and email himself which made me feel a lot better. If you have been arrested for any crime I would highly recommend Josh!
Arrested for DUI in RI Was a Shocking Event
I am happy to write a review for the best criminal defense lawyer in RI! I never thought I would ever be arrested in my entire life. I had never been in trouble before, not even a speeding ticket, so being arrested for DUI was a shocking event. From the first conversation with Josh, I knew I was in the best hands. I had spoken to a few other lawyers before speaking with Josh but wasn’t really impressed with the consultations.
At the first consultation with Josh, I knew he was head-and-shoulders above the rest. I figured all lawyers were basically the same, boy was I wrong. Not only did Josh explain things in basic terms, but he also had my DUI reduced to reckless driving and no loss of license.
